2017 Passim Iguana Fund Grantee
To end 2017 on a high note, we are thrilled to announce that Greg Klyma has been awarded a Passim Iguana Music Fund. Since its establishment in 2008, the Iguana fund has granted over $300,000 to New England artists, including Margaret Glaspy, Della Mae, Lake Street Dive, and Alastair Moock. It is an honor to be in this wonderful company!
TWANGVILLE BEST ALBUMS OF 2017
Thank you, Mayer Danzig and Twangville, for including Never Knew Caroline in your picks for Best of 2017. Congratulations to Lisa Bastoni, Susan Cattaneo, The Rationales, and Dan Blakeslee on their great releases.
Klyma brings to bear an encyclopedic knowledge of Americana on Never Knew Caroline, moving seamlessly from the outlaw country sound of “Ex-Girlfriends Cost Less Money Than Ex-Wives” to the tear-jerking ballad “Kristofferson.” The consistent thread across this song collection is a commitment to thoughtful – and well-crafted – songwriting."
NO DEPRESSION REVIEW OF NEVER KNEW CAROLINE
These road-tested songs dig deep into folk, country and rock traditions, and they benefit from the contributions of friends he’s made along the road, including acclaimed singer/songwriter Peter Case (Plimsouls) and guitarist Gurf Morlix (Lucinda Williams) from his native Buffalo, N.Y., and guitarist Bill Kirchen (Commander Cody, Nick Lowe, Twangbangers etc. etc.).

Thank you, Jed Gottlieb and the Boston Herald!
There’s a reason Greg Klyma hosts Americana Sundays, a weekly night of live music that celebrated its first anniversary at Somerville’s Thunder Road last month. Klyma understands the expansive sound of Americana from “Nashville Skyline” to “Will the Circle Be Unbroken,” from outlaw country to Cambridge folk. He puts this appreciation for the genre on display on his new album Never Knew Caroline.
Never Knew Caroline
Never Knew Caroline (2017) is the latest release from Greg Klyma. Official album release parties are scheduled in Somerville, MA (Sun. Aug. 13 at Thunder Road), Buffalo, NY (Sat.
